Collection Database

The items of the Collection are accessible through the database "Collections IKA" (https://coll-ika.univie.ac.at/), using a log-in and password. If you are interested in getting access to the database, please contact us via Sammlung.Klass-Archaeologie@univie.ac.at.

The database currently contains images of about 1,200 objects, but we are continuously working on providing additional photographs.

Users are free to download the images from the database. The reproduction, distribution or modification of the images are only permitted if the source is referenced (© Institute of Classical Archaeology, University of Vienna). If an image is modified, its reproduction and distribution is only permitted under the same conditions as they apply to the original image. Commercial use of photographs is not permitted.

If you use one of the phots in publications, please inform us in advance of the publication by sending an e-mail to Sammlung.Klass-Archaeologie@univie.ac.at and provide us with an offprint after the publication (in print or digitally). If the publisher prohibits the distribution of offprints, please contact us in advance.

Detailed instructions on the structure of the database, searching modalities and download options are available in the database manual. Note: If an error notification appears when you try to enter the database, please delete the cookies in your browser and refresh the database webpage.

Initial work on this online database goes back to Friedrich Brein and Kurt Schaller, as well as Lotte Dollhofer and Harald Wolf. Professor Marion Meyer significantly promoted further work. The data sets were created by Sümeyra Alankaya, Sophie Dieberger, Tina Hobel, Benjamin Huber, Katharina Kainz, Veronika Kolomaznik, Sabine Miesgang, and Katharina Preindl. Most of the photographs are taken by Kristina Klein.
